Moore Fine Homes is a boutique design-build firm specializing in luxury custom homes in Short Hills and throughout Essex and Morris Counties, New Jersey. ETAI’S STORY: FROM FINANCE TO FOUNDATIONS
Etai Harel’s journey into homebuilding didn’t start on a job site. It started in finance.
Growing up in the North Shore of Chicago, Etai has always been drawn to great architecture and historic homes. Whether he was building furniture, sculpting or exploring older houses in his neighborhood, he has always been passionate about good design. After receiving his MBA from the University of Chicago, Etai spent several years working for Goldman Properties, redeveloping historic New York City buildings into luxury residential apartments.
In 2002, he took over Moore Development & Construction, with a plan to combine great architecture and design with craftsmanship, functionality and financial feasibility. He lives in Short Hills, New Jersey with his wife, three daughters and dog, Hunter.

One of the biggest differences at Moore Fine Homes is Etai’s involvement.
We are not a large-scale firm where you meet a salesperson once and never see the builder again. When you build with us, Etai is there at every key milestone.
He’ll walk the lot with you and sit down with your architect. He’ll review your budget line by line and help you navigate every step of the building process.
Etai’s presence ensures consistency, accountability, and unwavering commitment to excellence. He brings the same analytical mindset from his finance background into each build. He balances vision and feasibility, creativity and execution, design and cost.
